STINGING NETTLES || URTICA DIOICA

I’m sitting watching the snow fall outside my window and dreaming about stinging nettles; scientific name Urtica dioica. I haven’t been able to find any reliable information about whether or not this springtime herb grows wild in my region. To be honest, at this point I haven’t looked very hard. I’ve just brushed the surface with a quick google search. But, regardless of whether they grow here or not, I know I can cultivate them in this climate. WIN FOR ME!

ALLERGIES AND HONEY

Allergies hit me hard this past week! I was pretty much down-for-the-count!

At first, I didn’t quite catch on to what was happening to me. I thought I must be getting the flu. Back on the east coast allergy season hasn’t started yet. This is my first spring here on the west coast – so it really snuck up on me. I was taken completely by surprise 😉

Gosh, it’s only the first week of April!

Once I realized that my suffering was caused by seasonal allergies and not some sort of nasty cold or flu, I started rummaging through my cupboards in search of an herbal remedy.
